REVIEWS
Format:Kindle Edition
We all know those ads that appear on websites, blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and most places that you visit on the web. You do a search for something, visit a site, play a game and soon your seeing ads for them. The Corner Office is about a company that provides companies with the ability to target those ads to you, the consumer.

Problem is they have all their eggs in one basket. If it's not successful they're bankrupt! So when hackers gain access to some of the core software and infrastructure and are allowed to do as they pleased it sends the management of PIT Technologies into crisis mode. If they don't want become a not-for-profit company they have to figure out a way to correct it! Even if they can, will they be able to restore their reputation?

The story-line which takes unexpected twists is a new and refreshing change of pace which I thoroughly enjoyed. The content of The Corner Office is well written and fluid. I look forward to finding out what happens next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well-written, fast-paced tech thriller! August 9, 2014

Well-written, fast-paced read - the author is very successful in capturing the pace and politics of executives dealing with an uncertain threat, delivering insight into how these situations play out in a tech company, and indirectly offering some leadership lessons on navigating your/any team through a crisis. Great beach read - well worth the time investment!

The book is at its best when exploring the pros/cons of technology on how communities interact, how individuals behave, and how wealth is distributed - and even more interestingly the choice all the players (companies, customers, developers, hackers) have on how to use this tool. Would love to see more exploration of these themes from this author (potentially using many of the same characters!)
